How to Connect to Wifi From Your RV

Embracing remote work can be exciting when you’re working from scenic destinations on the road, but how do you keep your WiFi up to speed? Here are some tips and tricks on how to get a strong internet connection from wherever you’re parked.

Create your own mobile hotspot

When connecting to WiFi at the campground fails, a mobile hotspot from your smartphone works as a WiFi network, but will use up data in your phone plan. The more devices you connect to your hotspot along with the smartphone, such as laptops, tablets, and TVs, the more data you’ll use, which is important to keep an eye on to avoid overcharge fees. Purchasing a dedicated mobile WiFi hotspot device can remedy this potential struggle.

An Extender Antenna

Here’s a good excuse to stand on the rooftop of your RV and look down on everyone: installing your extender antenna. This device boosts network signal in “deadzones”, typically more remote areas where signal is weaker. 

A Booster

This will extend an existing signal by boosting or amplifying it, good for when you’re at the campground with a WiFi connection that’s just a little out of reach.
